Which veterans are eliglible to receive home care covered by the Veterans Affairs?
Most veterans that meet the VA’s clinical requirements as needing home care are eligible to receive some home care covered by the VA. Veterans that are determined disabled with a service-related disability of 70% or greater may be entitled to more hours of care.

A VA doctor will assess the veteran to determine if they meet the clinical requirements to be eligible for home care covered by the VA.
How old do veterans need to be to be eligible for home care services?
Veterans of any age can receive home care services.
What kind of home care services do veterans receive?
Home attendants provide veterans with help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, eating, transferring (mobility), and toileting. They also help with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) such as light housekeeping, food preparation, laundry, and shopping.
