The following are rules and regulations for CDPAP that are often relevant to consumers:

  • Consumers must have Medicaid to be eligible
  • Consumers must require home care (the details of this can be complex)
  • Consumers must be able to direct their own care or have a “designated representative” that can direct their care
  • Consumers cannot hire their “designated representative” (see previous item) as their caregiver
  • Consumers cannot hire their spouse as their caregiver
  • Consumers cannot hire their parents as their caregiver unless the consumer is 21 or older

Homecare Planning Solutions is a division of Edison Home Health Care dedicated to helping consumers navigate today’s often complex home care system.

Please Note: Edison Home Health Care is a Fiscal Intermediary for CDPAP. We do not administer the program. We can help you navigate, but application and enrollment for CDPAP must go through your Local Department of Social Services or Medicaid plan.

If you’re looking to hire a caregiver under CDPAP, you’re probably curious what your caregiver’s pay rate will be.
